Your most effective pathway to The University of Western Australia (UWA) is via The University of Western Australia Foundation Program (UWAFP). This program is conducted exclusively by Taylors College Perth. It has multiple start dates and students can choose courses that run from 30 weeks to 60 weeks. The UWA Foundation Program is equivalent to an Australian Year 12 and offers a guaranteed pathway to an undergraduate degree at The University of Western Australia for students who achieve the necessary requirements.
University of Western Australia
As Western Australia’s leading university, UWA was rated second overall in Australia by the Good Universities Guide 2011 based on key performance measures such as graduate starting salaries, employment prospects, staff qualifications, research intensity and student demand.
The University of Western Australia consistently ranks in the top 120 international universities and in the top 10-18 universities in the Asia-Pacific region. UWA is the only Western Australian university to belong to the Group of Eight and it is one of only two Australian universities to belong to the Worldwide Universities Network, a partnership of 16 research-led universities from Europe, North America, North Asia and Australia.

University of Western Australia Foundation Program
UWA and Taylors College have worked closely together to create The University of Western Australia Foundation Program (UWAFP). As a team, we have developed a program which is the most effective pathway to a place at The University of Western Australia.
Once you successfully complete the UWA Foundation program, and achieve the necessary requirements, you have two major advantages. Firstly, a guaranteed place at UWA upon meeting required grades; Secondly, the confidence that you have received the very best possible preparation for a UWA degree. Every year, approximately 80% of UWAFP graduates who apply to UWA are offered a place. If you meet the requirements, there is no competition.
UWA Foundation Program offers a flexible unit-based course structure delivered in 10 week terms. Students will choose new units to study each term and over the duration of their course, and build a program that is more suited towards their university and career paths. If a student wishes to change what they want to study at university, they can then change their units in the following term to reflect their new pathway.
After completing the first term students have the option to repeat a unit, take a different subject area or extend their program and study at a slower pace. Students are counselled through this process on an individual basis to select the best study option to ensure success.
Every UWA Foundation program unit is made up of coursework and a final examination. 50% of your grade will count towards your coursework and 50% will count towards your final examination. Once you have completed the Foundation Program you will receive two scores. This first will be your English score and based on your cumulative performance you will receive a letter grade between A and E. The second score will be an average score calculated across your best 10 remaining units (including prerequisites required for your intended degree major). Your final report will indicate your final UWAFP scores. Please click on the image below to see details about UWAFP unit.
